Channeling

Channeling is the practice of allowing a non-physical entity — such as a spirit, guide, or higher consciousness — to communicate through a practitioner, either by influencing their speech, writing, or actions.

Channeling is the practice of opening oneself to receive and transmit messages from a non-physical source — whether that is a spirit guide, an ascended being, a collective consciousness, or a higher aspect of the self. The practitioner serves as a channel through which information flows.

There are different forms of channeling. In conscious channeling, the practitioner remains fully aware and present while relaying the messages they receive. In trance channeling, the practitioner enters an altered state and may have limited or no memory of what was communicated. Most modern practitioners work consciously.

Channeling and mediumship are related but distinct. Mediumship specifically involves communicating with the spirits of people who have died — delivering messages to their loved ones. Channeling is broader — it can involve connecting with guides, higher beings, or universal consciousness, and the messages are often more philosophical or spiritual in nature rather than personal.

People seek channeled guidance for many reasons — spiritual growth, life direction, understanding their purpose, or gaining a wider perspective on challenges they are facing. The quality of channeled information depends on the practitioner's clarity, experience, and ability to set aside their own thoughts and biases.
