Navigating the Unseen: Working with Angels, Uncommon Guides, and Spirits of the Light

In my world, I have seen many things. I have witnessed the heavy, shifting shadows of haunted spaces, watched the brilliant, blinding flash of angelic visitations, and channeled messages from souls who walked this earth centuries ago. Over the last thirty years, every single supernatural encounter I have experienced leads in one definitive direction: helping, guiding, and healing in some way.

This sacred work is not just designed for the living. Those who have crossed over into spirit form sometimes desperately need guidance and assistance, too.

It is a massive misconception that once a person dies, they instantly become an all-knowing, enlightened being who flies off into a perfect cloud. Many souls get stuck. They might need energetic assistance finding the light because they left behind deeply unfinished business, or because they are consumed by a heavy, agonizing worry for a living family member who is drowning in grief.

Other spirits simply like hanging around this physical realm. They make a massive, conscious effort to cross back into this world because they thoroughly enjoyed their human lives, loved the physical structures of their earthly homes, or simply like staying close to the vibrant, high-vibrational energy of the living.

On the other side of the reading table, those who are alive come to see me to seek closure, get answers to complex questions, receive higher guidance, and sometimes just for the sake of pure curiosity. Regardless of the reason a person walks into my space, someone or something always tends to show up.

I explicitly say something because the unique, chameleon way that I work tends to draw "uncommon spirits"—yes, those entities you would never normally think of when you picture a traditional psychic reading.

Those who come through the veil for the living are always incredibly willing to lend a hand, give a voice to the unknown parts of your life, and they rarely, if ever, feel put upon or burdened by your requests for help. They don't have human egos; they don't get annoyed when you ask for help with the same problem multiple times. They operate from a baseline of pure, unconditional devotion to your soul's evolution.

The Reality of Angels: Immense Beings of Mapped Light

Over the years, I have had well-meaning people tell me that they refuse to work with angels because they are terrified of burdening them. Others are gripped by fear, convinced that angels are actually "trickster spirits" or negative entities posing as pure beings of light.

Let’s clear the air on this completely: the latter is rarely, if ever, the case. Why? Because there is absolutely no mistaking the true presence of an angel. Trust me on this. Angels are not the chubby, cute little cherubs holding harps that you see on Victorian greeting cards. They are immense, towering, formidable cosmic forces of pure light-force. Their vibrational frequency is so incredibly high that when they step into a room, the physical atmosphere shifts instantly.

In fact, their energy is so intense and overwhelming that it can literally give a sensitive person a physical headache or make your ears ring as your body tries to adjust to their radio frequency!

But the defining factor is how they make you feel. Even while your physical body is vibrating from their intense power, they make you feel an absolute, all-consuming warmth, safety, and divine love. It is a frequency of pure, holy light that darkness could never mimic.

And remember this universal truth: you are never, ever burdening an angel. Angels are entirely infinite in their capacity for love, compassion, and the generosity of giving. They are liminal, non-physical beings that can exist in a limitless number of places, times, and dimensions all at once. An angel can be standing in your kitchen comforting you while simultaneously preventing a car accident on the other side of the planet for someone else. They do not have a limited supply of energy, and they do not get tired.

Furthermore, they were created explicitly with this divine intent. They were, are, and always will be angels. They have a completely different evolutionary path than humans.

Just as guides are created to be guides, and guardians are created to be guardians, ancestors are uniquely just that—the souls of those we loved on earth who have moved into spirit form.

Reclaiming the Ancestral Village

It is beautiful to note how different cultures view this spiritual support system. The South American medicine people and global shamans I have trained with seamlessly call the spirit world "ancestors and family." But to them, family is not defined strictly by a biological bloodline.

In the eyes of Spirit, your ancestral village includes those who are not related to you by blood but are deeply related to you by love. This includes:

• Passed Pet Pals: Your animals are highly empathic, emotional healers who continue to watch over your home from the other side.
• Soul Friends: Soulmates and close companions who crossed over ahead of you.
• Spiritual Mentors: Teachers, historical figures, or guides whose work you resonate with on earth.

They all instantly flock to your side the exact moment you need them, or the second you consciously call them into your space.

The Power of Permission: Unlocking the Universal Laws

Being highly specific about who you wish to aid you in a situation is a wonderful practice. If you need protection, you call on Archangel Michael. If you need deep body healing, you call on Archangel Raphael.

However, there are going to be plenty of times in your life when you are too overwhelmed, tired, or confused to know exactly who to reach out to. When you don't know the name of the guide you need, I highly recommend using a phrase that has become a staple in my personal practice:

"I ask and give explicit permission to all those of the absolute highest light to step into my space and assist me now."

This simple, powerful statement will immediately call in whatever exact vibrations, guides, or cosmic forces are just right for your unique situation.

But notice the most critical part of that phrase: you must explicitly remember to give permission.

This is a fundamental law of the universe that you cannot afford to ignore. You are an autonomous soul walking an earthly journey of free will. Because of the cosmic laws of non-interference, those on the higher, angelic planes cannot step in and interfere with your path without your consent—even if they see you heading straight for a cliff.

They must respect your boundaries. Actively giving them your permission breaks that barrier, opening the floodgates and allowing them deeper access to bring you immediate aid, miracles, and signs.

Your Everyday Blueprint for Connecting with Spirit

At the end of the day, all of this complex metaphysics boils down to a beautiful, childlike simplicity. Connecting with the unseen world doesn't require decades of training, secret handshakes, or elaborate setups. It requires you to be courageous, open, and vulnerable enough to simply call on Spirit.

To help you integrate this co-creative magic into your daily life, I have mapped out a simple, practical blueprint you can copy and paste into your routine:

1. State Your Intention Aloud

Spoken words carry a physical, vibrational frequency. Sit quietly, light a candle on your altar, and state clearly what you need help with. Speak to your guides the exact same way you would speak to your absolute best friend. No fancy jargon required—just raw, unvarnished honesty.

2. Formally Grant Permission

Always close your request by saying, "I give permission for my highest spirit team to intervene for my greatest good."This legally unlocks the energetic channels, allowing angels and guardians to arrange synchronicities, shift timelines, and drop answers into your path.

Once you have given permission, release the problem completely. Don't sit around overthinking how the universe will solve it. Instead, stay highly alert to your surroundings. Look for the common signs—angel numbers flashing on your clock, sudden shifts in your pet’s body language, or a random thought popping into your head out of nowhere.
