Beyond the Veil: Making Room for Comfort on a Public Stage
Superstitious Times · January 1, 2023
Beyond the Veil was built for one thing: comfort. Superstitious Times came to see how a room full of strangers can leave a little lighter than they walked in.

Beyond the Veil was born from a simple wish, to make comfort something people could share in a room together, out loud, instead of carrying their grief alone in the dark. Superstitious Times came to see what that looked like, and what it looks like is a lot of tears that turn, somewhere in the evening, into something gentler.
This work has taken many shapes for me over thirty years. I have brought it to the radio as the in-house psychic for one of the country's biggest stations. I put it into a book, My Psychic Companion, so people could keep a piece of it at home. And I bring it to the stage in shows like this one, because there is a particular healing in being in a room where everyone came for the same reason, to feel a little closer to someone they lost.
Grief is not something I try to fix. It is something I try to sit beside you in. And every so often, a message comes through so specific and so tender that a whole room remembers, all at once, that love does not end. It just changes its clothes.

If you are seeking solace, come and share an evening with me, or sit with me privately when you are ready.
