Claircognizance

Claircognizance means "clear knowing" — the intuitive ability to know something without any logical explanation or prior information.

Claircognizance is the intuitive ability to know something without having any logical basis for that knowledge. The word means "clear knowing." Information simply drops into your awareness — fully formed, without explanation.

Of all the intuitive senses, claircognizance is often the hardest to trust because there is nothing to point to. With clairvoyance, you see something. With clairsentience, you feel something. With claircognizance, you just know — and your rational mind immediately asks, "How do you know that?"

In a reading, claircognizance might show up as suddenly knowing a client's mother's name, knowing that someone is about to change careers, or knowing a piece of information about a spirit that there is no way the practitioner could have learned. It arrives as a complete thought, not a gradual realisation.

Many people experience claircognizance in everyday life. You might know who is calling before you look at your phone. You might know that a decision is wrong before you can articulate why. You might meet someone and know instantly that they are going to be important in your life.

The challenge with claircognizance is learning to trust it — to act on what you know even when your mind cannot explain the knowing.
